Abhishek Vahadane is interested in the application of deep learning in biomedical problems. He received BTech degree from University of Pune and PhD (thesis submitted) from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2016 for studies in Computational Pathology. His current research interests include biomedical imaging, computational pathology, image analysis and machine learning, and social impact of technology in health. He mentored a team at IIT G, which ranked first worldwide in breast cancer HER2 scoring contest organized by Warwick University. He was awarded Heritage fellowship to undertake research internship at CAMP, Technical University of Munich. He published several high impact journals and conferences like IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (TMI) and International Symposium in Biomedical Imaging (ISBI). He likes travelling, nature, trekking and is an avid badminton player.
